An offer of well-rounded African cuisine experience and an Afro-centric ambience to match, serving “The Best of Africa in America” our menu delivers an intimate experience with fresh, authentic African recipes made from scratch.

Take a leap into a diverse selection of dishes molded into exquisite meals and experience our original African cuisine that includes scintillating mouth-watering African appetizers, southing soups, sizzling decadent entrees and tasty desserts.

Our chefs are specialized in preparing a genuine African cuisine with a major influence of the Swahili culture based in East African that links different parts of the continent with other African dishes from the diverse culture of the Bantu, Nilote or Cushite with Arabic, Indian and Persian influence. The original selection of the main Africa dishes from East, West, North and Southern countries such as: Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and a diverse Northern hemisphere. A spillover of the surround selects countries like Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Malawi, Zambia, etc.

We host different African themed occasions from traditional drumming to music, to dancing.

Mumbi Baskin is the pioneer and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the first Kenyan, female minority-owned Full Restaurant in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex that has been in operation for over 10 years.

She has a heritage of entrepreneurship that includes setting up the Sokoni Market entity in 2005.

She has strong ties to the diplomatic community through her work with the US Embassy in Kenya and the various diplomatic missions in the United States.

she has ventured into various fields like commerce, a collector at Citi bank before finally patching in the hospitality industry.

As an active member of the community in the greater Dallas Fort Worth area, she is also a board member of Kenya Diaspora Advisory Council (KDAC) and former Ambassador to the East African Chamber of Commerce, of which its headquarters is based in Dallas, Texas.

She is also a former Board member and Director of strategic partnership at Kenyan Women in the United States (KWITU).

Her awards include recipient of the first 2015 DEAR Awards for best restaurant, recipient of the first-ever Queens Night 2014 for the Leadership and Business Entrepreneurship Award, and African Diversity Award by the City of Dallas.

She is a graduate of Oxford University in the United Kingdom (UK).

She resides in Fairview, Texas, and is a mother of four wonderful children and grandmother of three.
